"The Four Seasons" by Memphis — CC BY-SA 3.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/), via musicoi.comMemphis were formed in 2005 in a place near Hull. This studio based act started work on the
debut album 'Photogenic', which blended a mixture of post-rock, ambient, synth, and electronica
sounds to create a perfect blend of sound.
After a year out, Memphis started work on album number two in 2009. The album proved hard to
complete with several recording sessions scrapped. Slowly but surely over the course of early
2010 the album started taking shape. So 'By Proxy' was born and the album forms a subtle change
in direction into a dirtier, grimey style. New influences from Industrial and Minimal Techno
genres have been added with filmic sounds taken to more extremes as well as the synth sounds.
