Why our albums are half the usual size
A typical high-quality MP3 album is 80 to 120 MB. The same album from Musicoi is usually about half of that, and on a phone speaker, earbuds or a car stereo most listeners will not hear a difference.
Two things we do to every release
- Level-matching. Tracks from different labels are mastered at very different volumes. We bring them to one listening level so you are not reaching for the volume button between songs.
- Efficient encoding. AAC describes the same sound with fewer bits than MP3 does. You get a lighter stream for listening and a higher-quality file for keeping.
Why it matters
Smaller files start faster on a weak signal, use less of your data plan and fit more music on an older phone.
